Student Discipline Committee

Avichi College of Arts and Science

At Avichi College of Arts and Science, we believe that discipline is the foundation of academic success and personal growth. The Student Discipline Committee (SDC) plays a crucial role in maintaining order, ensuring a safe, respectful, and conducive learning environment, and upholding the college’s values of integrity and responsibility.

The committee is responsible for monitoring student behavior, addressing concerns related to misconduct, and enforcing the institution’s code of conduct through fair and transparent procedures. By fostering discipline and ethical conduct, we create a harmonious academic atmosphere where students can excel.

Objectives of the Student Discipline Committee

The Student Discipline Committee is committed to:

Promoting a culture of discipline, responsibility, and ethical behavior among students
Ensuring compliance with institutional rules, regulations, and policies
Addressing violations of the code of conduct through fair and transparent procedures
Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where mutual respect is valued

Through proactive engagement, the committee guides students in making responsible choices that contribute to their academic and personal development.

Code of Conduct: Expectations from Students

To maintain a respectful and professional academic environment, all students at Avichi College are expected to:

  • Follow campus rules and maintain discipline within the college premises
  • Show respect towards faculty, staff, and fellow students
  • Adhere to attendance policies, dress codes, and academic integrity guidelines
  • Refrain from any form of misconduct, harassment, violence, or disruptive behavior
  • Use college resources responsibly and contribute to a positive campus culture

Failure to comply with the code of conduct may result in disciplinary action as per institutional policies.

Disciplinary Actions: A Fair and Transparent Process

In cases where violations occur, the Student Discipline Committee follows a structured redressal mechanism to ensure fair judgment and appropriate actions.

🔹 Step 1: Complaint/Report Submission – Misconduct can be reported by students, faculty, or staff. Complaints can be submitted via email, in person, or through designated reporting channels.
🔹 Step 2: Investigation – The committee reviews the complaint, collects evidence, and conducts necessary inquiries.
🔹 Step 3: Hearing & Discussion – The involved parties are given an opportunity to present their perspectives.
🔹 Step 4: Resolution & Action – Based on findings, appropriate action is taken, which may include:

  • Counseling & Guidance for minor infractions
  • Formal Warnings for first-time violations
  • Suspension or Expulsion in cases of serious misconduct
  • Other Corrective Measures as deemed necessary by the committee

The committee ensures that all cases are handled fairly, confidentially, and in alignment with institutional policies.

To encourage self-discipline and ethical conduct, the committee organizes regular awareness programs, including:

  •  Workshops on Student Ethics and Responsibilities
  • Seminars on Campus Conduct & Behavioral Guidelines
  • Interactive Sessions on Conflict Resolution & Communication
  • Anti-Ragging and Anti-Harassment Awareness Programs

By participating in these initiatives, students gain a deeper understanding of their rights, responsibilities, and the importance of discipline in academic and professional life.
