At Avichi College of Arts and Science, we are committed to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusivity by ensuring a discrimination-free academic environment for all students, faculty, and staff. The Anti-Discrimination Cell (ADC) has been established in accordance with the UGC Regulation on “Promotion of Equity in Higher Educational Institutions Regulations 2012”, which strictly prohibits discrimination against students belonging to any Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), or any other community or category.

We stand firmly against any form of discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, language, or social background, and we work proactively to create a safe, fair, and harmonious learning environment for all.

Objectives of the Anti-Discrimination Cell

The Anti-Discrimination Cell (ADC) is dedicated to:

Preventing discrimination and ensuring equal opportunities for all students
Promoting awareness about students’ rights and responsibilities
Ensuring prompt action against any reported case of discrimination or harassment
Encouraging inclusivity and diversity within the institution
Providing a safe platform for students to voice concerns and seek redressal

Avichi College takes strict action against any individual or group engaging in discriminatory acts, and our zero-tolerance policy ensures a just and respectful environment for all.

Code of Conduct: Commitment to Equality

To maintain an atmosphere of peace, respect, and harmony, all students, faculty, and staff are expected to adhere to the following principles:

  • Treat all individuals with respect and dignity, irrespective of caste, gender, religion, or language.
  • Refrain from engaging in or supporting any form of discrimination or harassment.
  • Encourage inclusivity and equality in academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Report any discriminatory act or behavior immediately to the Anti-Discrimination Cell.

Discrimination in any form will be dealt with strictly and promptly to maintain a fair and just academic environment.

Complaint Redressal Process

The Anti-Discrimination Cell follows a structured and confidential grievance redressal process to ensure swift and fair action:

🔹 Step 1: Complaint Submission – Affected individuals can register their complaints in the Complaints Register at the Principal’s Office or via email.
🔹 Step 2: Review & Investigation – The committee examines the complaint, gathers relevant information, and conducts necessary inquiries.
🔹 Step 3: Discussion & Resolution – The involved parties are given an opportunity to present their case, and the committee takes necessary actions as per institutional and legal guidelines.
🔹 Step 4: Final Decision & Follow-up – Based on the findings, appropriate action is taken to address the issue, and necessary support is provided to the complainant.

Confidentiality: The identity of the complainant and case details will be kept strictly confidential to protect their privacy and safety.

To prevent discrimination and promote equality on campus, the Anti-Discrimination Cell organizes various awareness programs, including:

  • Workshops on Equality & InclusivitySeminars on UGC Anti-Discrimination Guidelines
  • Gender Sensitization Programs
  • Panel Discussions on Social Harmony & Diversity
  • Legal Awareness Programs on Student Rights

These initiatives help educate students and staff about their rights, responsibilities, and the importance of maintaining a discrimination-free campus.
